A new opinion poll ahead of the Kpandai parliamentary rerun has revealed strong momentum for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), with an overwhelming majority of voters—particularly NDC supporters—expressing confidence in the direction of the country.

The survey, conducted by Global InfoAnalytics and released on Sunday, December 14, 2025, places the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate, Matthew Nyindam, marginally ahead with 50 per cent support, while the NDC’s Daniel Nsala Wakpal follows closely with 46 per cent. The tight race falls well within the poll’s ±3.9 per cent margin of error, underscoring how competitive the contest remains and keeping the NDC firmly in contention.

Notably, voter sentiment captured in the poll paints a highly favourable picture for the NDC. An overwhelming 97 per cent of NDC supporters believe Ghana is headed in the right direction, compared with just three per cent who think otherwise. This optimism sharply contrasts with views among NPP supporters, where more respondents believe the country is moving in the wrong direction than the right one.

The poll also highlights stability in the NDC’s support base, with limited vote switching between the two main contenders. While about two per cent of voters have moved from Mr Wakpal to Mr Nyindam, an equal proportion has shifted in the opposite direction, signalling resilience in NDC backing as the rerun approaches.

Beyond party lines, overall optimism in the constituency appears strong. Sixty-six per cent of respondents believe Ghana is on the right path, including 65 per cent of floating voters—an important bloc that could prove decisive on election day.

Analysts say the findings suggest that while the numerical race is close, the NDC enters the rerun with significant goodwill, buoyed by positive perceptions of national direction and a highly motivated support base. With undecided voters at three per cent and the margins extremely narrow, the NDC’s message of progress and hope could play a crucial role in shaping the final outcome in Kpandai.
