Kwaku Skirt, a Ghanaian entrepreneur and owner of the US-based online radio station Apple FM, has announced plans to launch a 24-hour car servicing business in Ghana, aiming to complement President John Mahama’s “24-hour economy” initiative.

Speaking during a live broadcast on his Facebook page, Apple FM, Kwaku Skirt revealed that his new venture will provide round-the-clock car maintenance and repair services across Accra, with plans to expand to other regions.

“I am bringing machines to service cars 24 hours a day, as I promised during the elections,” Kwaku Skirt said. “Whether your car breaks down at home, in your office, or halfway on the road, my team and I in Ghana will come to you anytime.”

The initiative, he said, will create significant employment opportunities for young Ghanaians. “They told me to employ 100 people for the job. These are mechanic jobs, and we will be servicing cars 24 hours, solving people’s problems while contributing to the 24-hour economy,” he added.

Kwaku Skirt emphasized that the business would not only focus on repairs but also on a range of car services, including oil changes, tire replacements, and car washing. He encouraged Ghanaian youth to get involved, with plans to start in Accra and later expand nationwide.

Addressing critics of President Mahama’s 24-hour economy initiative, Kwaku Skirt said, “For those laughing and mocking the 24-hour economy, I am coming from the USA to start mine and add to Mahama’s vision. This is a serious business.”

The launch of the service marks a growing trend of Ghanaian entrepreneurs abroad investing in initiatives that support local economic development and employment generation.
